We frequently listen to an album called “Christ the King” by Voice (aka Curtis Allen) in our kitchen while we do our chores. Many of his songs have been a great help to me. I was pretty excited when I found out that he was a friend of our pastor and coming to URC. After Sunday night, I have a more personal affection for his ministry. The Lord saw fit to use him to encourage my very dear friend. He blogged about it today. What a beautiful picture of unity.

Something Borrowed
I am persuaded that without the knowledge of literature pure theology cannot at all endure, just as heretofore, when letters have declined and lain prostrate, theology, too, has wretchedly fallen and lain prostrate… Certainly it is my desire that there shall be as many poets and rhetoricians as possible, because I see that by these studies as by no other means, people are wonderfully fitted for the grasping of sacred truth and for handling it skillfully and happily.-Martin Luther, Letter to Eoban Hess
