Knowing that most of my readers find my love of hip-hop somewhere between quirky and annoying, I promise I won’t post on it too often. But permit me this once to commend to you an album called The Atonement by Shai Linne. The Lord has used this album, like an auger to dig into the clay soil of my heart, a reminder to meditate on the glorious atonement of Jesus. For a little taste (even if you’re not a fan of the music, just listen to the words):

Something Borrowed
I am persuaded that without the knowledge of literature pure theology cannot at all endure, just as heretofore, when letters have declined and lain prostrate, theology, too, has wretchedly fallen and lain prostrate… Certainly it is my desire that there shall be as many poets and rhetoricians as possible, because I see that by these studies as by no other means, people are wonderfully fitted for the grasping of sacred truth and for handling it skillfully and happily.-Martin Luther, Letter to Eoban Hess
